Fruit Critique projectObserve | Sketch | Critique
1. Students watched the video titled, Austin's Butterfly to learn about observation and critique. 2. Students observed photos of various fruit images: apple, banana, watermelon, kiwi, pineapple, raspberry, and strawberry. 3. Students chose one fruit to sketch their first drafts. 4. They gathered together to critique some of these first drafts. Critique includes warm, specific, and helpful feedback. Then they gave more personal feedback by partnering up to critique. 5. Students continued to make drafts by considering the feedback they received. 6. With their final draft, students outlined their sketches with a black sharpie to then fill in with as many 2D geometric shapes as possible. Students recorded how many of each shape they used: circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, rhombuses, and hexagons. 7. Students then observed the color of their fruits. They tore pieces of construction paper to fill in their fruit drawings as accurately as possible. |
