All first grade students presented their flight work to a public audience at the Flying Leatherneck's Aviation Museum in San Diego. Each student presented their process binders, writing posters with illustrations, plane models, and bird kites. This was their first time presenting their flight work and they did great! They are now more prepared to present their work for the upcoming school exhibition. Thank you to the parent drivers, chaperones and museum staff!
Fall school exhibition
We had a wonderful exhibition at HTeNC for our fall project! Students were prepared and excited for our classroom door to open for the audience. Families and audience members were able to see our classroom tables, with their writing posters, string art and process binders on them, connected to form the shape of an airplane. We also had a science table with presenters that shared the windsocks, owl pellets, birdhouse from Escondido Creek Conservancy, and more. Kites were displayed all around the room and guests were able to write folded paper airplane letters to students. We also had the student-created plane models being flown on a landing zone in the classroom. The presenters explained how the plane models used the four forces to fly. Well done first graders!! The next day, we were able to visit the other grades/classrooms and learn about their amazing project work.
